The DCC operation centre for the smart meter programme. Located in Manchester it has thousands of smart meter test spaces, and a technical ops centre that allows engineers see a birds eye view of the millions of messages streaming across the network live via a video wall.
The site has been fully operational since June and includes extensive smart meter and communication hub testing facilities to help smooth the installation process for millions of homes and small businesses across the country.

Our Service Centre is for energy companies and cannot help with general Smart Meter enquiries. If you have a problem with your Smart Meter please speak to the company who provides your gas and electricity and they will be able to help you.

Some buildings, like blocks of flats or where walls are very thick, the smart meter can't communicate with the communications hub. To solve this problem, use a Dual Band Communications Hubs
The Noise Lab has been set up to test and record, electrical noise and RF frequencies emitted from Electric meters and Comms Hubs.
The Mesh network has been built to allow more meters to communicate via a SKU2 hub in areas with poor or no WAN signal.
First-generation smart gas meters and smart electricity meters, also known as SMETS1. _x000D_ This service helps you test that you can successfully initiate the migration of SMETS1 meters from the Smart Meter System Operator to DCC.
Second-generation, or SMETS2 meters started being installed in 2018 and allow the consumer to switch seamlessly between energy suppliers as they are connected to a nation-wide secure smart meter network
Polyphase / 3 Phase meters will provide homes and businesses connected to a three-phase electricity supply with the option of a smart meter.
